DR-Plunk
Plunk is a fun, friendly, bold display typeface inspired by free form and experimental jazz from the early 20th century where musicians would attempt to alter, extend or break down traditional jazz conventions. I wanted to echo these values in the typeface by ignoring traditional rules of typesetting, for example, having the lowercase letter the same height as uppercase combined with varying widths of glyphs created a playful unexpected flow that makes for unique compositions.
Plunk works well across contemporary, playful and experimental applications. It’s recently been used on Django Django’s new single ‘In your beat’ where it was used to compliment psychedelic visuals art directed by Brodie Kaman.
PLEASE NOTE – Plunk is in re-development so is only currently in support of English basic typesetting!
